Song of the Week – Simon and Garfunkel’s Scarborough Fair / Canticle

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
She once was a true love of mine.

Today’s song of the week, Simon and Garfunkel’s Scarborough Fair / Canticle is a reference to my favorite time of year – Renn Faire season. I love Renaissance Faires and go to as many as logistics and finances allow every year. This year, Rob and I are heading up to King Richard’s Faire with my cousin / best friend, Nikki, and my god-daughter, Katrina. Then later in the month, I hope to head down to the Maryland Renaissance Festival (which is quite possibly my favorite place in the world).

Apart from it’s Renn Faire association, Scarborough Fair has always been one of my favorite songs. I grew up on Simon and Garfunkel and love to listen and sing along with their music.

About Ciarrai

Hi. My name is Kerry but here online I tend to go by the Gaelic version of my name, Ciarrai. I am a woman in my mid-30's who lives on Long Island, NY, with my husband, Rob, several guitars, a Nikon D40, more yarn, beads and books than I care to admit to and a cat who has a million nicknames and quite a few theme songs. I have a B.A. in Psychology and have recently returned to college to pursue a teaching degree so that I can eventually get a job as a High School English teacher. In addition to my major obsessions (Reading, Beading, Knitting, Music and Photography), I also enjoy playing Board Games, going to Renaissance Faires, Museums and Broadway Musicals.
