How Long Can I Tread Water?

The other day, Rob was sawing something for some project he was putting together and I swear the sound he was making sounded just like the “vrooba, vrooba” sound that Bill Cosby had in his famous Noah routine. So I jokingly started quoting from it. Rob and I were cracking up, trading quotes back and forth. In our house, saying “what’s a cubit?” is almost guaranteed to get a chuckle.

It was a fun moment but now I am starting to have second thoughts about it since there has been several intense thunderstorms in our area over the last few days. And this is coming after a summer full of many intense thunderstorms. I know it is just a coincidence. I mean, the reason Rob was even sawing in the house (triggering the conversation) instead of doing it outside on the patio was because it was raining (again). But I am looking out the window at the torrential downpour and wondering if I really should look up what a cubit is, just in case.

About Ciarrai

Hi. My name is Kerry but here online I tend to go by the Gaelic version of my name, Ciarrai. I am a woman in my mid-30's who lives on Long Island, NY, with my husband, Rob, several guitars, a Nikon D40, more yarn, beads and books than I care to admit to and a cat who has a million nicknames and quite a few theme songs. I have a B.A. in Psychology and have recently returned to college to pursue a teaching degree so that I can eventually get a job as a High School English teacher. In addition to my major obsessions (Reading, Beading, Knitting, Music and Photography), I also enjoy playing Board Games, going to Renaissance Faires, Museums and Broadway Musicals.
