Just my luck

As I mentioned before, I have to go to a Halloween themed wedding today and everyone was asked to come in elegant costumes. My costume is a vampire and I tried to go all gothic for the occasion. I was a bit worried about pulling it off. I mean, I am a knitter who is obsessed with Jane Austen. I don’t have a lot of goth cred but it was worth a try.

Anyway, I got a long overdue haircut a couple of days ago – my hair has been bothering me for a while and I decided to cut it short. It’s about chin length now and I was pretty happy with it. Last night, Rob and I dyed my hair (with the wash-out kind of dye) black. I thought having really dark hair would go with the whole gothic look and make my costume look a little more “bad-ass.” This morning, I got up and stuck a red headband in my hair to keep it out of my face until I was ready to start getting dressed for the wedding. I looked in the mirror and realized that, instead of a Gothic creature of darkness, I look like Snow White (and the Disney version, not the Once Upon a Time version). *shakes head*

About Ciarrai

Hi. My name is Kerry but here online I tend to go by the Gaelic version of my name, Ciarrai. I am a woman in my mid-30's who lives on Long Island, NY, with my husband, Rob, several guitars, a Nikon D40, more yarn, beads and books than I care to admit to and a cat who has a million nicknames and quite a few theme songs. I have a B.A. in Psychology and have recently returned to college to pursue a teaching degree so that I can eventually get a job as a High School English teacher. In addition to my major obsessions (Reading, Beading, Knitting, Music and Photography), I also enjoy playing Board Games, going to Renaissance Faires, Museums and Broadway Musicals.
