Welcome to Celtic Knits!
Hi. My name is Kerry but here online I tend to go by the Gaelic version of my name, Ciarrai. I am a woman in my mid-30's who lives on Long Island, NY, with my husband, Rob, several guitars, a Nikon D40, more yarn, beads and books than I care to admit to and a cat who has a million nicknames and quite a few theme songs.
I have a B.A. in Psychology and have recently returned to college to pursue a teaching degree so that I can eventually get a job as a High School English teacher.
I am also the designer / craftsperson behind Ciarrai Studios, (http:www.etsy.com/shop/ciarraistudios), your source for handcrafted jewelry, knitted accessories and more!
In addition to my major obsessions (Reading, Beading, Knitting, Music and Photography), I also enjoy playing Board Games, going to Renaissance Faires, Museums and Broadway Musicals.

As I mentioned before, I have to go to a Halloween themed wedding today and everyone was asked to come in elegant costumes. My costume is a vampire and I tried to go all gothic for the occasion. I was … Continue reading
Hey folks! Just checking in to say that everyone here weathered Hurricane Sandy as well as could be expected. We’re all safe and our house came through undamaged. We lost electricity and internet access for a couple of days (which … Continue reading
Tonight in sign language class, we learned the signs for: knit, read, book, play board games, photography, watch TV, go to the movies and Pepsi. I am not sure I need to know anything else. With the exception of making … Continue reading
Today is the day we celebrate everyone’s favorite scallywags of the sea. It got me thinking about all my favorite pirates. (It says something about pop culture that I can discuss my favorite pirates but I think that is a … Continue reading
