Welcome to Celtic Knits!
Hi. My name is Kerry but here online I tend to go by the Gaelic version of my name, Ciarrai. I am a woman in my mid-30's who lives on Long Island, NY, with my husband, Rob, several guitars, a Nikon D40, more yarn, beads and books than I care to admit to and a cat who has a million nicknames and quite a few theme songs.
I have a B.A. in Psychology and have recently returned to college to pursue a teaching degree so that I can eventually get a job as a High School English teacher.
I am also the designer / craftsperson behind Ciarrai Studios, (http:www.etsy.com/shop/ciarraistudios), your source for handcrafted jewelry, knitted accessories and more!
In addition to my major obsessions (Reading, Beading, Knitting, Music and Photography), I also enjoy playing Board Games, going to Renaissance Faires, Museums and Broadway Musicals.

Tonight in sign language class, we learned the signs for: knit, read, book, play board games, photography, watch TV, go to the movies and Pepsi. I am not sure I need to know anything else. With the exception of making … Continue reading
Hi guys. Sorry to have been so quiet lately but the school semester has begun and I am still in the process of trying to establish a routine that lets me manage my schoolwork, manage Ciarrai Studios (including creating new … Continue reading
Someone on the block is having a party and is blasting their music pretty loud. I’d be annoyed if it weren’t for the fact that the DJ is excellent so I am grooving around my living room instead!
Here are some quick little snippets to tide you guys over until I have the time to write a real update. #1. It’s that time again, the time when I start planning out the new pieces I am going to … Continue reading
